I was supposed to be running Copenhagen Marathon last year. Got rolled over to this year, it’s currently what I’m working towards.
It’s in the middle of May.
Was chatting with Mrs P earlier and I really can’t see it happening. I’m not going to be vaccinated by that point and Europe is behind us on that front right now. Will things be close enough to “normal” to hold a city marathon?
Even if it does go ahead, will I even get a flight? Will travel quarantine rules be in place on either end? I can’t really spare the time off work to make it a multi week trip. Was going to be a weekend away!
So I’m thinking of assuming the worst and going for a UK autumn marathon. Timing doesn’t work for Manchester so most likely Brighton. Places open for that next week I think
Has anyone else done it? Any thoughts on the course?
Understand it’s an out and back. Can’t imagine it’s hugely hilly either?
If I’m being totally honest though I can’t see any of the big city marathons happening in Autumn either but I’m trying to be as optimistic as I can!

I haven’t done it Andy, but hoping to. I have a place booked and optimistic that because it is scheduled for September, there is a chance it may go ahead.

I have done Brighton Marathon 3 times and have really loved it every time! There are some hills for the first 9 miles but after that it’s fairly flat. It’s one of my favourite marathons, lots of crowd support and Marshalls are great and a nice sea breeze!
