Watch this space to find out!! 😛October 9, 2019 at 12:46 pm #6362sharnie1Keymaster
Well you guys have really made it REALLY tough for us this month and in the end we couldn’t split our final three contenders…..
SO HERE THEY ARE
The October M(s)OM are all 3 being recognised for outstanding achievements over the weekend.
@karlbowles – AKA Karl B – for a meticulous approach to training and still managing to squeeze in plenty of Park Run volunteering and it was great to see that approach yielded a fabulous run at Loch Ness Marathon.
@wozzaman1964 – AKA Ian W – For an outstanding marathon debut at Chester on Sunday, and plenty of hard graft in the training.
@jillymp – last but very definitely not least – for finally nailing a sub 4 marathon with absolutely metronomic miles splits (also) at the Chester Marathon on Sunday, all the more special as Jilly is returning from a long term injury.
All three of this months MOM give fantastic support and encouragement to the their fellow bugs and we couldn’t separate them this month so congratulations to all 3 of you and thank you for your contributions to keeping the bug special 🙂 🙂October 9, 2019 at 3:27 pm #6367Vicky PixiKeymaster
BIG WOOP WOOPS for all of you guys – Super tough call this month but we had to had all 3 as all 3 you guys were superb… and this is to highlight what can be achieved by anyone when you work hard 🙂
Jilly – YAYAYAY – finally nailing that sub 4 marathon and after your injury and all the other niggles! and set backs This just shows that if you really want something and work hard enough you will get it 🙂 and for never giving up on your dreams.
Ian – Not only did you do your 1st marathon but you smashed it to – you worked hard in your training and i think the result speaks for itself – hard work really does pay off 🙂
Karl – a super old bug friend who I have known to never shy away from the task at hand – and what a superb result from you with your weekend marathon – again another fine example of what hard work can do 🙂
WELL DONE fellow bugs, your all a big inspiration and a fine example of hard work and dedication!!October 9, 2019 at 5:25 pm #6370Richard WoodfieldParticipant
Yay – trebles all round! I already knew that Jilly and Ian (Wozza) were great Bugs, very encouraging to others as well as super determined and systematic in their training and running. And both with brilliant mara performances this week. I’d not come across Karl all that much before on the Bug- but I found his post after the Loch Ness mara really fascinating, honest and informative and so I’ve no doubt Karl is a great MOM as well! Well done All!October 9, 2019 at 7:42 pm #6371meercat58Participant
Big congrats to the 3 amigos and fantastic marathon performances, Jilly smashed the 4 hours, brilliant first one by Ian, and Karl with the super speedy result at Loch Ness Awesome 💪💪💪

Lol….. not to Karl B and Wozza, who truly deserve this month’s nomination, but I’m really not supposed to be in here! (But wow, my running month couldn’t get any better!)
Karl is an old Bug friend who has always been a good supporter to me,works hard to achieve his goalswith a pair of speedy legs and refuels with ale and lavender gin! (Yuck!) Wozza, is a new pal, but I can already tell he’s going to be one of those who are super encouraging and again looks at the task in hand and works toward it. I though his debut marathon was brilliant.
And THANK YOU for thinking of me 🙂 Two years ago started the spate of foot injuries and multiple DNSs, but I really do think it’s been a learning curve and I understand my body better than before. I have learnt sensibility and restraint. Speed is NOT everything when you want to go faster.October 10, 2019 at 6:41 am #6376Ian SKeymaster

Sorry im late congratulations all three of you on winning MOM.. All three of you deserve to recognised for all the support you give to all us bugs. Wozza you put in a brilliant performance at Chester, has some really strong runs up to the race too. Support chester PR too, well done on MOM and all the support you have given me this year 😊
Karl, congratulations to you too on MOM, smashing performace at Loch Ness and some really impressive club runs. Thanks for all your support too and look forward to hopefully meeting up for a bug meet next month? well done Karl on MOM 😊
Jilly, good to see you getting MOM, these last few months you have been on fire, those 5k races you were storming along and the you completely smashed your Mara time at Chester. Not forgetting Snowdon too and on lack of sleep and traveling up. A few niggles along the way too. Thankyou to you also for all your continued advice and support. Well done Jilly, 😀
