Amazing to hear about the Irish veteran runner, Tommy Hughes, who broke the over 60s HM world record in the Antrim Coast HM at the weekend – in a time of 1:11:09.

Many an older runner can keep chugging along quite nicely for good distances, but as muscle mass inexorably diminishes with age it’s pretty unusual to keep up anything like that kind of racing pace.

Amazing time! Is that the same Tommy Hughes who ran a marathon record with his son not that long ago?
