mind the slippery bits: yesterday’s rain had me slip on a stile and collect a great set of scraps and bruises this morning, just missing the exposed nails and broken wood. Could have been rather worse. Didn’t occur to me the tread would be slippery in summer.

The wooden Stiles and any kind of wooden crossing are all a tad dangerous.  Got to be really careful,  as you found out, when stepping on wet wood.

Sorry to hear about your slip Simon. Here’s to a quick recovery. Sometime wood can be really slippery, especially in summer when dry mud, vegetation and grease etc has built up and then it suddenly rains. I always take great care as can really catch you out!
