Beautiful route, even in the wet

    Fabulous race report, Van!
That sounds really tough, what with the elevation and heat, you’re a superstar!
Sounds harder than a marathon to me.
Thanks so much for thinking of us and taking pics

What a beautiful place to run!
So sorry the hip played up, and hope it settles quickly.
Congratulations on completing a marathon, massive achievement. I’m afraid on a site like this sometimes you don’t realise just how rare that is. (FWIW that’s the same time I took for my first Mara !)

59 miler is quite the step up, well done

25% improvement over a couple of years is amazing.
Even with less training volume you still got the job done

    Lovely to have company

      Tiptree 10 miler.
First road race I can remember doing in years.
Plan was again to run a mile, then walk for c 30 seconds. Aiming for sub 2 hours (anything Kipchoge can do 😂).
Back went as I put my stuff in the car which was NOT a good start. Spoke to physio at registration who basically told me not to run, but gave me an exercise (basically…[Read more]

    • Very good determination Gael you were only 8 minutes over target after all the pain I’d I’d say that’s really good. That’s nice of friends to wait to see you in

    • Forgot to say this race used to be sponsored by Wilkins jam, alas no more so no tasty goody bag 😢

    • Not far off kipchoges time Gael 😆 did really well to keep to the strategy and you got a fine avp 💪💪 top job 👍

    • Good job still with all that going on. Well done Gael, hope the back eases off soon!

    • Hey fantastic race taking into account the circumstances and the back issue! And so great that you participated in an event!… 🙂 Huge well done! Despite not being close to Kipchoge class, I bet he’d be proud! 🙂

    • That took guts well done for sticking at it when many others would have given up 🙂

    • Gael, that is a great achievement! Well done on the 10! I get those back problems occasionally and it becomes almost impossible to pick your legs up or stand up straight. Hope you feel OK now 🙂

    • Such a shame that you tweaked your back like that, Gale. Great, great dedication to carry on regardless. And fabulous support from your tri-club and running buddies. Friends like that are priceless. Hope the back doesn’t take too long to settle back down. Take care x

    • Well done Gael – that last hill was a mean sting in the tail!! Even better to stick to the planned strategy with the back issue – that can’t have been comfortable – super well done from me – would have been easy to get back in the car and just go home – and how lovely your friends waited for you to cheer you home one to be proud of there and I…[Read more]

    • You did well to even start this Gael, never mind finish it and not too far away from your target time either – well done and so nice of your friends to wait for you at the end 🙂

    • Good for you to stick it out

    • The main thing was that you stuck with it an finished Gael, so you should be pleased whatever the time was. Well done

    • Gael !!! Well done to seeing it through the end, great mental determination lady as for the exercises did you roll around on the floor ?? LOL awwww you did good and that must have been lovely having some friendly faces waiting for you at the end x

    • Weren’t too far off the target time, being in pain , think you showed true dedication and commitment which is exactly what Kipchoge does, so mission achieved.
Hope the back is feeling better today and lovely to have friends waiting for you 🙂
Question is, did you get a jar of jam in your goody bag?!

    • Well done Gael, sounds like you had to work hard on this one. Shame about the goody bag
