Well done having the strength to go out after entertaining.

Really disciplined to not push too hard, sounds like a great event and the long term biomechanic improvements are great news

Great half, super pic, even if the light wasn’t quite right

Steve, I really hope the injections give you some relief.
My cousin had a problem with his hands from vibrating power tools, but he was ‘lucky’ and had surgery which helped.
Must be so frustrating for you when running helps you mentally but hurts physically.
Can you get the same buzz with less pain from cycling?

Take his advice, just Potter for a few weeks: I think sites like this can make you think it’s almost normal to run very long distances. Maybe he helped put into perspective what an achievement an ultra is for most mere mortals x

Great to read you had a good run, and also that you were sensible about cutting out the gym

Well done Jill. Eldest was working there last month, made me laugh that she stated in two different hotels, one for Asia and one for Europe

Back to Costa del Cumbria days by the sound of it!
Disciplined run, glasses a good idea, I’ve had an assortment of flying things in my helmet recently 😱

Not quite as planned. Supposed to be easy 10k on the Flitch. Knew legs would be tired after cycling yesterday as usual, but my shins/ankles/heel all decided to have a moan at once and I decided it made more sense to stop at 5k.
Was lovely out, warm in the open bits but cool in the wooded sections, lots of wildflowers out, just one moment when a…[Read more]

    • Good decision to pull back on the 10k with legs feeling like that , sounds like a nice run apart from the dog surprising you.

    • A nice run in nice weather 😊 Sensible to listen to the legs if thery were not cooperating too much

    • A good 5k it’s always best to listen to your body. You can do a longer run another day. 😊👍👍

    • Right decision made. Hopefully less achey tomorrow. Well done

    • Agree in a bit cooler today as the afternoon approached. Good call listening to the body.. Close shave on the ankle bitter, there the dogs that are more of a hazard 😯 a happy 5k done

    • sensible decision good 5k well done

    • nice 5k, sensible choice distance-wise. I would probably have fallen over the dog

    • Top 5k Gael hope you gave the legs a good telling off tho 😆

    • Sounds like a lovely 5k Gael nevertheless, and at least the dog wasn’t yappy👍

    • Always going to be a rough day after a long bike but it sounds like you did the right think – 5k is enough to shake the legs out and fingers crossed the niggles are just aches nothing more problematic. Bet that dog scared the bejeesus out of you 🙂

    • Sometimes you just have to listen to your body and no point pushing on for the sake of it – had a similar experience to yours with a dog a year or so ago but it actually hit me as it ran past, nearly took me out and not a word from the owner!

    • No point in pushing it if it feels wrong, better to stop while you’re ahead. Had the same with a squirrel on my run yesterday!

    • Cracking 5K, hopefully that helped loosen the legs a little. You’ve to be careful of those small dogs though – they’re easy to trip over!

    • bloomin little dogs lol – nice 5k with the trio having a moan at you!! Hope they have settled down now 🙂

    • Very wise to adjust the plan to suit how you felt. I can imagine how your heart rate leapt when the dog caught you by surprise!

    • Wise choice to cut it short Gael. Aaaargh that dog!… I love dogs but my heart would have gone through my back from the scare!

    • Good stuff Gael, a wise decision.

    • Sensible decision to cut the run short, when parts of the body were starting to give you some grief. You still ran a decent distance 👍

    Lovely nature ramble!

So sorry this is dragging on. Does seem a bit weird that different leg lengths hasn’t been a problem for decades but I understand you wanting to try anything now. Hope he’s not charging you an arm and a leg for it though
