Plan said 75 mins at 10:05 pace so went in search of it resulting in: 9:39, 9:50, 9:58, 9:56, 10:05 🏆, 10:10, 10:10 & 10:00. Having over indulged a bit the last few days but also having spent 3 hours in a Spa and having a massage yesterday (our 19th wedding anniversary) followed by over a 4 hour drive back today, going straight out for a run felt…[Read more]

Tech, I was positive I’d posted this on Friday when I ran it but it appears not….. or did I and it just vanished?!? Anyway in Cardiff for a few days. Morning run but had to wait until light enough as I didn’t take any lights or hi-viz. Drizzly and very windy start to the day. Too much traffic and had to wait on some crossings but love r…[Read more]

Okay so I’ve been restricted again ☹️. Spin – Beat class (18.1 miles) last night helped. Allowed to do 2 miles today which was kept at a pace slower than 9:20 so did 10:16 and 9:57 (being good🤣) followed by another Spin – Power class (17.2 miles). If my running miles are restricted I guess I’ll ride them instead 😇

Plan said: 2 miles 10:05, 4 miles 9:50 and 2 miles 10:05 pace based on road running. Don’t know what the variance would be for off road but doesn’t really matter. Longest run since foot op. Had some interesting challenges such as part of the Downs Link being resurfaced and the vehicles abandoned on the path so you have to get off the path to go…[Read more]

    • That is an excellent 8 GG…got to be worth the white finger and bloodied toe!

A very successful outing by sounds of things with a few challenges thrown in for good measure!

    • Thst poor rider, haven’t ridden for donkeys years (pardon the pun) and an unm8veable horse is a pain.
Lovely long one Julie, fingers sound cold (gloves!) and leg painful, hope that’s ok now?

    • Great to see the long buddy runs back on the table and taking it sensibly with the leg too – bet you enjoyed that but be good to see that behaving soon 👍👍👏 love the pic 👍

    • Good to see you ticking those miles off, always nice to have company.

    • Very eventful but good going.

Nice little tester Vicky. I’m keeping everything crossed for your physio appointment – hope it goes well and there’s good news from it. 🤞🤞👍

Great run Richard and those slippery conditions are starting to get more frequent – I guess winter has finally arrived! Have a fab weekend with your son at home 👍

Woohoo that’s fab news, love it when things come together quicker than expected. Great 20 miles and very crispy cold conditions 😀

  • I don’t blame you it was definitely an icy start to the day. Nice run and sadly I think I’m getting a cold too so that’s a boo for both of us!!! Enjoy your weekend.

Plan said: 1 mile w/up, steady (9:50 pace) parkrun (did distance not event), 2×6 mins at 8:35 pace (3 mins jog between) + 1 mile c/down. Due to hammy niggles adjusted the 8:35 pace to 9:35. Advised not to go faster than 9:20 which I almost managed. Very frosty and cool out there this morning and icy on the pavements – ran on the road when I could.…[Read more]

    • You should be really happy with this GG. Glad Hammy wasn’t too problematical – well done

    • Sensibly adapted session and fab to hear things have improved in the hammy department – good bunch of miles too – was a Baltic start this morning ❄️❄️

    • Glad it went well, great mileage. I also opted for running on the road where I could today.

    • Good to hear the Hammys have improved. Definitely a cold one today always good if you can avoid the icy stuff

    • A little caution required roads a little safer than pavements . Hope the hammy keeps improving

    • A sensible pace adjustment there GG! Good session!

    • Good miles Julie, stepping up the distance nicely. Good to see a happier hammy too 😊

Thought the hamstring was improving as session lunchtime was okay. Even started with a 1.17 mile gentle jog prior to the session to help warm it up. Sadly it decided it was going to be a real nag! Tilgate intervals compromised. Ben stopped reduced me to a steady on the third round and wouldn’t let me do the final one……. it was stretch out…[Read more]

    • Julie ( BIG HUGS ) and me too!! totally fed up with niggle after niggle after injury – both of us have a roton year and rehab is pants but you are doing superb – next year is our lady lady!! well done still on the double run day 🙂

    • Thanks Vicky – really can’t wait for 2020, it’s got to be better, right? 🤞

    • Sorry to hear that, I’m in the same boat. Not ran for over a week now, hoping to try a shuffle this afternoon to see how things feel, but not too hopeful as it I can still feel the hammy in a stretch

    • That’s unlucky, GG. Hope latest setback isn’t for too long.

    • Grrr – that’s really annoying, look after that hammy and do all the sensible things, the bike is a great way to keep things moving while it settles x

    • I’ve already read that things are better, which is good. I definitely think that 2020 will be your year!

    • Oh no. Thinking of you battling through GG, well done

    • Better to rest it than make it worse GG! You still had a good session though 🙂

Making the most of working from home so a runch (as on Running Bugs A-Z of running jargon!) was possible. Plan said 3 miles at no particular pace so just went with what felt right. Turned into a nice little progression run: 10:13, 10:00 & 9:27 😀 Next it will be Personify session tonight.

  • Brilliant and the definition of the Running Bug is spot on

Plan said 4.5 miles at 10:05 pace so decided to only set the alerts for too fast to see how that goes. Ended up with: 10:05, 10:04, 10:14 & 10:26 happy with that. This was followed by an strength & conditioning session of 60 secs per exercise 20 sec rec. 5 rounds completed
Step ups / lunges / donkey kicks / reverse Nordic (10 reps) / calf raises…[Read more]
