Out with the sunrise and early morning mist, beautiful morning for my final run for this visit back home to Guernsey #GuernseyGirlwashere

This is the warm up and cool down (Guernsey parkrun) combined. The warm up is nothing special but the cool down was a bare foot run on the beach, part splashing in the edge of the sea. Just had to be done 😎

Guernsey Parkrun. Mixed terrain, sand, grit paths, grass, undulations together with some narrow paths (no overtaking room) and managed to avoid any mishaps with pebbles and rabbit holes! Warm with fairly strong sea breeze. Very enjoyable. Official time: 28:33 and 65th position out of 158.

Main aim was to complete it in one piece and to try and…[Read more]

Failure was not an option, I was going to run up the Val des Terres (Guernsey hill climb) non-stop which is something I havenโ€™t managed to do before. Job done 🍾. Back home in Guernsey for a short break and I discussed with Ben that this had to be part of my plan. He was happy with that as itโ€™s a good test for Box Hill. Light drizzle, cooler con…[Read more]

Nice easy run Jilly and Salsa obviously enjoyed it too. Hope whatever you decide is the right decision……. I’m refraining from commenting – sorry! 👍

Love the sound of this run and you really can’t beat positivity and being motivated. Fab outing Richard. 👍

  • Thanks guys and I loved this skive. Barry she didn’t even use her elbows – she did mention two things though. First was that I’d let everything get REALLY tight and secondly that I handled pain well! At least the bruises are yellowing so on the way out now.

What better reason to take a day off work! A lovely catch up, chatty run with Sarah. Mixture of Downs Link and road. Lol even she is surprised at the bruises on my leg from the sports massage – hopefully they’ll all be gone in the next day or so.

    • Always good to have an extra day off Sharon! Don’t like the sound of those bruises. Maybe you need a different masseur!

    • Day off work Julie, and go for a run, a chatty one at that, perfect! Hope the massage did the trick, I’m having one tomorrow :/

    • Nice skive GG ๐Ÿ™‚ Good running ….not sure that pointy elbows should be so pointy that they cause bruises though ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

    • Thanks guys and I loved this skive. Barry she didn’t even use her elbows – she did mention two things though. First was that I’d let everything get REALLY tight and secondly that I handled pain well! At least the bruises are yellowing so on the way out now.

    • Sounds a fun and varied run and get you chatting along the way lol I’m always too busy fighting for breath

    • We must all be mad a day off for most is a nice lay in, late lunch, afternoon nap but have to agree can’t beat a nice chatty trot out 🙂

    • Lol – @amanda and there was me thinking a day off was for long runs?? ๐Ÿ™‚
Good chatty catch up and I hope there was cake and coffee after – that physio session sounds like it was vicious – great to have an unstructured and relaxed outing ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Can’t beat nipping out for a run when your on a day off if you can squeeze it in, especially when the weather was quite nice yesterday as well. Well done

    • Nice day off run

Rather than several posts this is a combined all in. Couple of little tests to check for niggles prior to a Personify PT session. There were a couple of sharp twinges in the foot which was a bit off putting but decided it was okay. Session was strides, which I still find strange but getting there. Ben made sure I kept the pace slower and had…[Read more]

    • You’ll get there, hard to keep it sensible but your patience will pay off. A good session that, well done

    • Positives in there GG but will all come good

    • Sounds like you’re being kept sensibly in check – doing a great job so keep up the patience and keep doing what you’re told – the progress is coming along nicely – though obviously we always want it to happen even faster ๐Ÿ™‚ Sounds like you’re really enjoying these sessions ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Im catching up with the last few weeks so it’s good to see you are still making great progress. Ouchy to that physio session though

    • All sounding rather positive GG. So good to see. Those sessions always sound very inventive too, which helps with the progress , I’m thinking. Don’t like reading about bruises from sports massages though…. you’re not the only Bug friend who has said this!

    • All sounding good GG ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Ben sounds like a very sensible chap! Hang on in there al will be good ๐Ÿ™‚ well done team GG ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Good session

  • The training plan yesterday should have been 50 mins easy rec run but Ben told me no running Sunday and only a walk no longer than 90 minutes! It is frustrating at times but this is what I took him on for, not only to push forwards and improve but to hold back when necessary. Things feel okay although the bruising from the sports massage is…[Read more]

Brilliant parkrun Chris and yes, I love volunteering at them too – though sounds like you are much more involved than me! Keep up the great work and enjoy your running. 👍👏👏

You know the drill, fab session Ruth. Only you know how things are feeling, just make sure youโ€™re telling yourself the whole truth and steady as you go will work a treat 👏👍😃

  • Yaaaaaay perfect choice. ย Everything everyone has already said, you really are an awesome couple of bugs and the support you have given is appreciated more than you can know. 👏👏👏🎉🍾❤️

Worthing parkrun – first time ventured to this one. Training plan said well paced 9:05, okay so it was well paced more at 8:35, 8:35 and 8:33. Ben also ran it, then came back and ran the final stretch with me – he very kindly said “don’t talk just concentrate on form”! Lol I couldn’t have talked 🤣 It’s a fast course, flat out and back all on…[Read more]

Warm up and cool down connected to Worthing parkrun today. Got there way too early – only 1 1/2 hours before the start! So enjoyed having a mooch around and finding where everything was. Nice and peaceful.

Personify 30 – Reigate Hills. Starting at Reigate Priory which is a beautiful location and nice large park. Loved this session – think I like hills! Knee was fine and didn’t feel it at all during the run though quads did tighten up a bit again but I was instructed to walk down the steep hills due to yesterday’s problems. Checked with Ben at…[Read more]

    • Looks a lovely place to do a session, glad you got the instructions clarified for yesterdays session and even gladder to hear the knee behaved on that one – sounds like another enjoyable outing ๐Ÿ™‚

    • That’s you told then ๐Ÿ™‚ sounds a lovely area that you ran on this one, and better news on the knee. Well done

    • A great hill session GG…..not sure if I know anybody that loves hills! Sounds like you pushed yourself hard he other day

    • HAHA OOps – but no damage so phew ๐Ÿ™‚ Hills are fun! Great sounding run here GG ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Nice surroundings to run in, I love how we stick to advice in running. Ha!

    • Well done GG, looks lovely and pleased that there were no issues.

    • Very scenic place to train GG – glad the knee was ok. Glad you asked Ben before the run!

    • Good to see that you are doing some hill work, I think it’s so important to that.
