Mind over matter – you definitely didn’t get beaten by hit. Fab session. 👍

Love the description of this route but hope your knee didn’t hurty and so pleased you’re sounding happier again. Nice run too 😀

  • Yay that’s the spirit, who needs a Brownlee when we have an Emma. Life gets in the way and quite a bit at times and you’ve just shown that you can fight back. Fab run.

Thanks guys. Ian the foot was absolutely fine, not even a little grumble 🤗

If you can do a run that is hot, sweaty and hard going without any inspirational music, you don’t really need it! Great run in these conditions.

Plan said 25 mins recovery jog on soft ground. So where could I go and how could I keep the pace down – Roost Hole south of St Leonard’s forest! Opted for a very gentle and extremely enjoyable jog up a little hill which is part of a long run route I use to do. I decided that I would just keep going until I got near the top of the incline at the…[Read more]

Fab long run Jilly – guess you didn’t believe the plan mileage/time frame was realistic then! 😂 Sounds like a great route too even if you did get a little lost!

  • Wow sounds like a fab event and you enjoyed it. Hope you found the ideal backpack.

Dave if you can’t moan here, where can you moan? This is where you log your runs and comment on how it went for you and yes this is always based on individual standards, etc. Please don’t stop otherwise how can others wish to have times like your’s when they are below par if we don’t know they are that! Next one will be amazing 👍

50 mins easy pace on soft ground was the plan. Ran with Sarah (long run buddy) out and back on the South Downs Link which turned into a very chatty, catch up run. Didn’t exactly keep to pace and had to stop a couple of times due to left hammy and getting cramp which I’ve never experienced before, guess there’s a first for everything! Probably…[Read more]

    • Well done GG, sounds like a tricky time with you. Positive news from Sarah though.

    • Guess the lesson here is yo continue being very careful, must ge frustrating though when the head is wanting to do everything but the legs really shouldn’t. Well done on the miles though and must be good if others can see the improvements.

    • Better to take caution on hammy maybe a massage or foam roller will help. But positive from Sarah well done

    • Sounds like the improvement is really noticeable now then – bet it was lovely to get out with Sarah again 😊 certainly sounds like a busy day for you though. I’m sure the legs won’t take too long to catch up with the head – look how far things have come already 👍👍 hopefully the hammy will ease out with a little tlc x

    • Good to see our and about with Sarsh – but eekkk to cramp, I rarely get it but it’s really horrid when I do!! Good chatty run πŸ™‚ and HAHA yes my brain so thinks I’m capable of running a lot faster and further then my legs can allow at the mo!!

    • Think you’re recovering now really well Julie, still be patient though.
Lovely little chatty run ladies, must have been a nice route too πŸ™‚

    • Still a great set of miles as you come back. Cramp isn’t nice at all, and can only imagine what you were thinking when it got you for the first time. Chin up, your doing great

    • Chatty runs seem to go so much faster! I like that your brain thinks you can do anything – now it just needs to liaise with your body and there’ll be no stopping you 😉

    • Cramp is nasty. You had a good run there too especially after the busy morning too.

    • Recovery can be slow…you just have to be patient. A good outing apart from the cramp GG

Was melting before I event started this but as per training plan, 25 mins at steady (10) pace. Right leg a bit tight, achey from last 2 days sessions. Set off and stopped just up the road to stretch the leg a bit – thought might have to not do the run. Set off again and settled in. Watch alerts were set at 9:50 and 10:10. First mile I just…[Read more]

    • GG this weather is so crappy!! – melting and im not even doing anything physical!! Ooooo what Hokas have you gone for, I LOVE Hoka’s and ooing and areing on getting another pair – but each time iv had a pair iv ended up with knee niggles!! But they are so comfy!! Good outing but doh – slow down😵

    • Well done on getting out in the silly heat, good stuff GG

    • Vicky I got the Gaviota (Paradise Pink/Neon Coral i.e. nice and bright 🤣) though it sounds like as much you love Hoka’s perhaps they don’t love you back!!!

    • Well done for going out in this heat!

    • I have Hoka Arahi, had them for a few years, only wear them on rec runs, like slippers they are. Hope the acheyness has disappeared by now. Well done

    • Good going, pacing worked eventually. Well done.

    • Well done sensible is best and it’s not easy in this heat

    • Sounds a toughie, and those legs are bound to have the odd grumble as you work your way back – they’re being pushed hard – got the avge pretty much spot on, and I’m sure the pacing skills will improve with a few more runs under your belt 👍👍

    • Looks pretty spot on for pace, so well done Julie. Hope the class did its job and legs feel nicely stretched out 👍

    • A good outing on achey legs after a couple of hard days training GG. Glad the Hokas are comfortable. Enjoy BodyBalance….I like all the balancy bits on this release

    • Getting anything in when the weather is hot is a bonus, so to stick to what you were meant to do in the main is excellent. Well done

    • Well done for sticking to the plan when the conditions aren’t ideal! Glad the shoes are comfy too, as that’s half the battle!

    • Well done on keeping to pace, hope you enjoyed your class

Personify Fitness session with Ben. Soft ground reps – energy and fitness levels finally starting to feel like they are coming back and even the legs didn’t feel bad after experiencing the toughest spin class last night that I’ve had so far (first time with instructor Maria) – totally loved it.

Watch set to auto pause when stopped – just bec…[Read more]

Great run Barry and I’d be happy with that pace too! Love the fact you know you’ve entered another 10k but can’t remember the details…….. it’ll be a nice surprise no doubt 🤣

Lol I’m sure 15-18 would have been fine but, yep, totally get why you did the extra. Shame about the bike letting you down yesterday. Think the choice of route with waist high grass and needles could have been a slightly better one (good job it wasn’t me with being so short 🤣). Sounds like all went well with the testing of the new gear – very…[Read more]

30 min jog had been crossed off my training plan by Ben when he altered it to take the holiday activities into account. On Thursday I requested it be reinstated. He agreed, based on feedback from hols, but very specifically it had to be: 30 mins on soft flat ground with a pace no faster than 10:45! I find this pace quite hard and had to set my…[Read more]

    • Hope you dont get told of for the extra 12 seconds. Good work though and disciplined, which is needed for running slow. Hope all felt good. Well done

    • That’s a busy day and right back on it after the hols – I can see Ben has his work cut out for him holding you back 😜 great to see a good steady outing after yesterday – well done 👍👏

    • Good work out and well done for doing as instructed… almost LoL Sounds like a great day all round

    • A well balanced run ~GG, well done

    • Well done for sticking with instructions, a nice bit of weaving

    • well done, lol at restriction time 😁

    • Wow that sounds quite a busy morning, and a good set of miles that you stuck to as well; nice one

    • That wasn’t being too disobedient so hope you didn’t get in trouble! Well done

    • This is good to see GG. Glad that Ben is steering you so well. I bet you needed that massage after all that activity!

    • Busy morning should think the massage was lovely after that

    • I used to find running slow fairly difficult as it’s easy to fall into a comfortable rhythm but if I keep an eye on my HR and listen to slow music, I do go slower! Well disciplined run Julie, your trainer sounds really good. The massage sounds lovely πŸ˜€
