  • Doing really good work getting all these miles in when so hot Dorothy, think you have to drop the pace quite a bit in the heat just to get the run completed. Know when I was in Cyprus last year I had to factor in quite a few walk breaks 🙂

  • Good hilly session MC – something I need to get back to also. Hope the legs won’t be suffering too much tomorrow and sounds like a good return to home, can’t beat a downhill all the way 🙂

  • Wow that was an early one Dave, I’d be snoozing at lunchtime if I went out at that time! Super disciplined and a nice chunk of miles done 🙂

  • Sounds like a perfect outing Emma, love the road name and the rain must have felt lovely 🙂

  • Sounds like another toughie Rob – do they have any flat road races down there? 🙂 🙂

  • A great weeks work Amanda, saw the runs on Strava and wondered why not logged on here – now I know why. Did well to get all the runs completed when so busy and a good haul of miles for the week 🙂 🙂

  • Not too long now until that 5k will all be running, great work and sounds like you’re really enjoying it too 🙂

  • Very consistent splits on that one Dave and a cracking avg pace for easy – bet the drizzle felt lovely too 🙂

  • Seeing as the next event is 215 miles I don’t think a lot of speedwork is going to be needed for it 🙂 🙂 Lots of miles in zone 2 might get a tad tedious for you but the legs will no doubt thank you for it come the big day and 8 weeks isn’t that long to keep that halo in place 🙂

  • Good early miles Jo and fab to be able to up the pace when feeling tired, that rain must have felt great in the last mile and a bit 🙂

  • That’s a good paced outing in the conditions Richard, the humidity really does make it feel like hard work!

  • Sounds like you’ve got the best of the weather Ruth, grey and muggy here too. Nice relaxed session but the fact the pace is improving and for a lower hr shows how well the training is coming along – looking forward to hearing what the next event is 🙂 🙂

  • Sounds like a lovely relaxed outing Jilly and nice views of the poppies too 🙂 I tend to do the majority of my runs at an equivalent of zone 2 running ie under 75% max hr as you can get a lot of miles done without increasing your risk of injury. When my mara plan starts next week, I’ll be doing one run at tempo pace or hillwork, one run at a…[Read more]

  • That first run after an extended break does always feel tough, almost like starting from scratch but you have the fitness there Dee and a couple more outings to get the legs moving again should see you good to go on Sunday 🙂

  • Some great paces in there Ian and not surprised you were glad the zone 5 section was only half a mile the speed you were going 🙂 Agree it was way too warm out there this morning, very humid too!

  • That’s a great start to the plan Emma and cracking off your long runs with a 12 miler proves you didn’t do too much lazing around when off plan 🙂

  • That was a speedy one Barry, hope the spin class didn’t beast the legs too much afterwards 🙂

  • Hope you managed to find some carrot cake at the 70th birthday Dave 🙂 All those leaves are clearly paying off 🙂 🙂

  • Super prog run Dave and great work after a busy week, fab swim session too 🙂

  • Shame about the mara Lizzy but does sound like they had to do something, hope you manage to find another suitable one. Good rec run and hope it helps ease off those niggles 🙂
