      GNR W+1-R1: 30 min Rec

30 min in Z1/Z2 to recover from Sunday’s HM and as much, if not more, from the drive back yesterday! First time I managed some bits in Z1 which weren’t downhill, so pretty chuffed with that. I now need to catch up on your runs!

      Great North Run 2019

We drove up yesterday – I say “we” but the humans did the driving because neither MiniMoo nor myself can reach the pedals 🙃. We visited Newcastle a bit, went up the monument in memory of Charles Grey to see the views, cheered on the kids’ race and then bed. But both Pop and Nath were sick during the night and they didn’t…[Read more]

    • Well done, the GNR is on my to do list. Watched it on TV yet again. Weather looked good. Great running

    • ha ha … thats a cracking HM Nathalie, and a super write up.

    • sounds like perfect tactics were employed to get out there and just enjoy it – and coming a way with a very respectable HM time too – well Nathalie and chuffed to see you back in you happy place – hope you’ve prised the medal back out of froggies pads 🙂

    • Sorry you were poorly but a good result. I love a sprint finish.

    • Great report I was watching yesterday looked a lovely day well done

    • Great time for a relaxed HM – sounds like you judged that perfectly 🙂

    • Glad you managed to enjoye that one Nathalie after tummy upset night before – could easily have gone pear shaped with dehyration from sickness. Good tactics to be relaxed about the pace with so many possible obstacles and distractions en route. Well done that frog too. 🙂

    • Oh poor you not the best set up for a hm BUT you went and did a superb job 🙂 A great looking run, but yikes it was very VERY over populated for my liking

    • Great report Natalie sorry to hear that you were unwell the night before but even so you did a great job. I’ve never watched the GNR although I know it’s a really busy one so just going with it and enjoying it sounds like the best tatic – well done 🙂

    • Love the write up Froggy, especially the bubbles in teacups bit 🙂
Looks like you’ve rediscovered the happy place for running again, which is what it should be. I think that’s the best result for a race you can get! Well done Nathalie.
Looks like it was mega busy out there but a well supported and enjoyable atmosphere. Hope the feeling queasy…[Read more]

    • Sounds like you enjoyed this one Nathalie, a fine finish and good to see you felt strong, all looking good going forward

      GNR W6-R2: 5k Z2

Same loop as Tuesday, this time no crazy day to burn off, so Z2 (mostly) it was. A touch of grumpy shins, so the physio will be back on the cards next week. Otherwise, the sea looked almost Mediterranean and it was pleasant all round. That’s it until Sunday now 🙂

      GNR W6-R1: 5km RHYF

I tried to stick to Z2/lowZ3, but after two particularly stressful days at work, it was adding my annoyance, so I forgot about hr and just run as fast as I could maintain the pace for the whole route. I found a new 5k loop with sea views, checked a bit of the seafront for one of my next photo assignment and burnt off the…[Read more]

Rho, cider at the finish? I like this! Well done on a fab race and on pacing duties, and a super negative split to boot too!

    Fab run and amazing PB!

A telephone pole on fire, that’s a way to start your Saturday! Looks like the strategy worked well at parkrun. To answer you, I’ve never done the GNR and haven’t run that far since Norway, so that will be entertaining;-)

Not the race you wanted but it still is a good result. Maybe an off-day for you, it’s done now, so roll on to the next

  • NathalieR commented on the run 2 weeks ago

You thought 4 and did nearly twice that? Yep, definitively a good run! Well done!

  • NathalieR commented on the run 2 weeks ago

Well done on what sounds like an eventful race! I hope the foot leaves you in peace tomorrow and the following days!

Fab long run, and wow to that elevation! I like the cow, being friendly was a bonus I suppose!

A nice run and a little prog, so a nice Sunday run. The neuroscience of learning sounds interesting!
