Leaden Legs this morning, they did not want to do anything. Couldn’t find HR strap either, so just went with it. Wi the way the legs were feeling I’m sure I was probably working harder than I should have been, although to be fair everything else felt OK, it was just my legs that were on another planet!
Dry morning, but there had been rain over…[Read more]

    • Maybe the 10 miles, bbq, Simon’s birthday etc all caught up with the legs. Got the miles done though and hopefully the legs will be happier next time.

    • This will do the legs good PC, think we have all suffered the muggyness today. Like you we had a lot of rain over night then dry but now the storm has arrived 😯

    • Busy weekend and the current humidity can definitely add up to heavy legs. Hopefully they will feel a bit perkier next outing

    • Dontcha hate it when they do that 😄still got the miles in PC 👍👍

    • busy time of year for you so just focus on getting those runs done and get back to us when you can – we’ll keep – good outing despite the lead legs πŸ™‚

    • When it is so humid it makes everything feel like such hard work, good steady miles after a busy weekend πŸ™‚

    • Not bad given the weather conditions Paul. Hope the leaden legs ease off soon and that the dreaded paperwork goes well!

Saturdays long one before a busy day.
Went out with target HR of 145, and for the first couple of miles I was nowhere near troubling that. Went out along the canal purposely to keep it relatively easy. Passed the 7 locks starting at Johnsons Hillock, spread out over about a mile. Continued on to Withnell Fold, where I came off the canal, and then…[Read more]

    • It’s always more difficult to control the further the run goes. I had laps yesterday, x6. 1st lap very simple to keep in Z2, last lap I’m struggle to keep out of Z3. But overall you obviously held it where you wanted so job done I think. Hope the bbq went well

    • A good mix of terrain PC, sounds like a route to keep you intrested in more than worrying about the HR?? it sure got hot on saturday too 😎 a good 10 miles before the bbq and do hope Simon had a fab birthday?

    • That’s a good looking tenner Paul. Good to hear you had the heart rate under control.
Hope you had s suitable rehydration strategy at the bbq

    • That’s a good chunk of miles over a really pleasant sounding route. Seems you did a really good job of controlling the HR as well – I imagine the sun coming out and the temperature rising had an impact towards the end as well. Hope Simon had a wonderful birthday πŸ™‚

    • Big saturday miles again PC liking all these routes you are picking 👍👍 hope you were able to use your Swedish Chef skills at the bbq 😆😆

    • Sounds like you did well to get in in before the birthday celebrations kicked in – well done Paul, great chunk of miles and another entertaining route by the sounds – always harder to control the hr towards the end, even more so when its warming up πŸ™‚

    • A good chunk of miles before the birthday celebrations and do think towards the end of a run it is hard to control the hr as you start to fatigue, the heat definitely doesn’t help either πŸ™‚

    • A good tenner Paul. Kept going really well in the heat. Hope the Birthday BBQ went well

There’s no way you can run 14 miles if you’re unfit Jilly!
Sounds like a great route, and well done to the boss πŸ˜‰

Have you noticed the bigger cars always seem to be driven by smaller people too, usually strugging to see where they’re going, and they have absolutely NO IDEA how wide it is!!
Good to hear they didn’t actually run over you though, and as for the cattle, well I believe they were an undercover unit of the highland police, obviously out looking for…[Read more]

The humidity makes running much more difficult, so no real surprise the HR was a bit high.
Good to hear the ankle settled down, hopefully it’s nothing.
    Well done, good miles.

Looking good. If a high HR and a couple of aches are the only things bothering you after weekend then it couldn’t get much better πŸ™‚

Massive congratulations Sharon. 26 miles in 4 1/4 hours after the swim and then all those miles on a bike is quite frankly astonishing. It never seems enough to say it but well done!!! 👍😀

LOL (sorry) Definitely not the best feeling to get when out on a run MC, but it certainly quicken the pace!
Hope you shouted at the zombies.
Chuck those miles in the bucket – but count ’em first! πŸ™‚

It can be hard to slow down. It does show though that you’re recovering well πŸ™‚

  • Paul C commented on the run 1 week ago

Looking good – particularly with those bike miles as well.

It looks like that one was bang on target, and definitely deserving of that breakfast πŸ™‚

  • Paul C commented on the run 1 week ago

Cracking progression, a good steady pace increase, well done πŸ™‚

I wondered what was happening. Good to hear the knee is recovering and all looking good.
Another fine run, and stepping back a few plan days was a sensible decision.

  • Paul C commented on the run 1 week ago

Good five Rob, and luckily avoided bumping heads!
At least you’ve got 12 months to recover from the HM before you do it again πŸ˜‰

  • Paul C commented on the run 1 week ago

That sounds like a really interesting but really tough event Rob.
Well done on the top 10 finish! πŸ™‚

    Ooooh, that looks ‘fun’ 🤪😨
Tough one there Rob, and I hope you were going up that and not down it.

Well done getting out there Lizzy – that’s always the hard bit! Very annoying with the oblivious kids though.
