      VLM W20/R1 ZONE 2&3

The regular 6 mile road route. Nothing exciting happened out there and all went ok.
Plan was to have a mix of zone 2 and 3. So on all the ups instead of backing of the pace as normal I stayed with the same effort and let it go into Z3. Then on the flat and downs, let…[Read more]

V10k wk4/r2 – 5min wu, 15min threshold, 10min cd. Went by HR zones, so theoretically should be z2, z4. z2 but threw in some strides at the end as wanted to liven the cd up a bit πŸ˜‰
Didn’t do my double bubble yesterday, thought I may push my luck, so did it instead after my PT class, which I haven’t done for ages. My poor legs (weighted walking…[Read more]

    • Ooh Jilly, you look awfully different since your trip to San Francisco, thought it was supposed to be flowers in your hair not growing a beard :0 Sounds like a good session and think your plan going forward sounds sensible too – I’m trying to incorporate a bit of strength and flexibility work into each day after I run, figure if I only do 10-15…[Read more]

    • too right Jill, stay focussed on your goals. Big goals take all your focus and effort and you need to work for it.

    • Nice positive attitude Jilly! Great running too πŸ™‚

    • A good session, and as you say, main thing is to keep on running

    • Love the quote above Jilly, very true. I’m sure you will get that sub 4, it defo in you Jilly.

Good work today, weighted walking lunges hurt, not done them for a while. You are already making good progress Jilly, well done 😊

    • Great quote Jilly, love your motivation and enthusiasm!

    • I guess doing strides in a cool down period defeats the object of a c/d but if it’s what you wanted, why not. Well done on the miles today jilly

    • You’re sounding very positive Jilly i like it. You’ve done some good work today . Well done! 😀👍👍👍

    • Looks good varied session to me and a good inspirational quote. I am sure if you are determined enough , there is a possibility you could get that sub four, if you don’t does it really matter, I don’t think so. Just enjoy your running that’s what it is all about.

    • good session Jilly

    • Well done Jilly looks a really nice session and even more well done resisting the urge to double up yesterday, Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was a sub 4 – steady consistency will see you where you want to be 👍👍 but enjoying it is the key 👍😊

    • Well done Jilly, and best of all a great positive can do attitude. That’s going to help you get that sub 4.

    • Mark replied 8 months ago

Positive outing. Sub 4 be waiting. πŸ™‚

    • Steady built up and consistency seems to be the thing. Great to have long term big running objective, as long as it doesn’t get in way of enjoying running along the way.

(Btw I would run a mile to avoid walking lunges – always feels like I’m about to injure myself any second now!)

    • Got to enjoy it Jilly or it becomes a chore and I’m pleased you didn’t double up yesterday. Nice work here, I’ve got that flippin tune stuck in my head now!!

    • I love that picture. I have had to start at scratch so many times over the years because of injury, illness and too much boozing and clubbing during the college years! But running has always been there, waiting for me to return.

Keep listening to your body, do what feels right and that sub 4 is yours for the taking xx

    • Well done Jilly!

    • You can do it

    • Well done Jilly, build up steadily and the rewards will come

    • Keep those miles coming Jilly. I like your planning. I think that having a goal to aim for is very important. Go for it.

    • Great sentiments in the photo – you sound to be back on it and fully focused on what you want to achieve. Don’t be tough on yourself though just build everything up gradually and more importantly enjoy what you are doing. Sub 4 will happen when its meant to do πŸ™‚

    • Staying focus and positive is the only way in my book!

VLM W8R5 – 3-5 miles @ -75% max hr, out with Lily for the first couple of miles then carried on to make up the miles for the week. Definitely picked the right time to go out as the rain had more or less stopped and just a light breeze but it’s blowing a right hoolie now! Half way through the plan but with 1 20 mile run under my belt more than…[Read more]

    • Well done, always good to reach the weekly target. Timed it nice weather wise. Good work

    • Good outing Sharon you’re really keeping to plan bang on target . Weather changes on it’s way here as well

    • Sounds like it’s going well and getting a 20 mile run by the half way point will have boosted your confidence I imagine.

    • Job done on the weekly mileage and well timed too with the weather

    • Frustrating about the physio appt – hope you can get another next week – good rec here and another week ticked off – these plans seem to fly by!! 😳

    • A great run to round up a great running week Sharon!

    • Super work Sharon

    • Ooo you were lucky to get your run done before it started. Well done on a good 4 miles. 😊👍👍👍

    • horrid weather to run in. Good 4, look after that hammy

    • That is a great 4 and you picked a good time to run! Sounds like you are well on top of your training Sharon! Hope the hammy settles down though

    • Seems you got your timing absolutely spot-on today, Sharon. Hope you can rearrange that physio appointment without too much trouble. Need to get that hammy sorted so that you can carry on smashing your training πŸ˜‰

    • Perfect timing for this one Sharon 👍👍 send mr m to parents evening while you go to physio appt…….perfect compromise 😆😆😆

    • Poop to patents evening lol, hope you can change your physio appt easily.
Anyway all looking very good and another run tucked off. Hope the hammy is ok too 👍

    • You done well getting out while the weather was ok yesterday, as it must have been a small window of opportunity. Having a 20 miler done when our only half way through the plan is great, and tells you that you can well handle it. Sad to read the hamstring still isn’t sorted, but on the plus side it doesn’t seem to be getting any worse either; so…[Read more]

    • Sounds idyllic in this sunshine Vicky, great outing; nice one

    • Is there a difference between a tree Huger and a tree hugger?. Like this one, lots of positives here and no muppetry. Looks like the road, or off road in this case to recovery is going very well. Well done

    • It’s a great day for running and sounds like you found the perfect place for it. It sounds lovely! ALl sounds good and bonue there was no muppetry here.

    • That sounds fab Vicky. Lol to the rabbit hole.

    • Sounds like you enjoyed this a lot.

    • Don’t blame you it’s a fab day and glad to see there was no repeat of the Alice in wonderland incident

    • Peace man 🤘you been at the mushrooms Vicky
😂 glad you got over the fear factor. After a injury it must feel a bit scary returning. Glad all went well and you enjoyed the run, that’s what counts. Well done Vicky 😀

    • Great hilly one Vicky. Glad you avoided the rabbit hole this time

    • Glad to see that you were careful….. Alice! Going well. Nothing wrong with walking, all the best people do it Ha Ha! N Hampshire girls are strong! I was born on the edge of Aldershot, spitting distance from the Farnham border, then moved to Fleet @ 13.

    • Hi Vicky it’s the crazy guy from York here 😂, from what I can tell from your past comments it seems that your recovery is going well, which is good to hear. Nothing wrong with a bit tree hugging something I wouldn’t do personally, but saying that im daft enough to do it 😁. It’s really good to be commenting on your runs once again.

    • Nice four Vicky!

    • Nice tree hugging run 😁 sounds like a nice place as long as you miss the holes, glad it all went ok 👍👍👍

    • Being a tree hugger is a great thing to do 😊 in glad the white rabbit didn’t coax you into the hole this time.

      ZONE 2 MILES
Plan said 9 miles in low zone 2. So that’s what I did. Ouit by 6am, headtorch on. Very mild out there. 2.4 miles to the lake, 3 laps of the lake, not a person or dog to be seen. Then the run home. All went OK, my Z2 range is 130 to 143 bpm so tried to keep it no…[Read more]

    • Very good early 9 Ian, and HR looking tickety boo πŸ™‚ will head over to your link now πŸ™‚

    • Can’t be bad having the lake all to yourself.. the dog walkers must be a lazy lot and sleep in where you are!! A fine start to the day, and if i win you can keep the socks πŸ™‚

    • Another fine 9 with no problems and even better no dog walkers! Nice early work Ian

    • Out at sparrows fart this morning Mr S – even beating the AP – good lower zone 2 pace there, looking all very good πŸ™‚

    • And good to see the legs in fine shape after last weekend πŸ™‚ xx

    • I was just fighting with my quilt and the alarm while you had already started your run. Having the lake to yourself, 😀 no dodging and happy legs, perfect weather a nice mornings worth of miles too, can’t knock this one Ian, well done 😀

    • Lovely peaceful start to the day. I’m ashamed to say I was still asleep!

    • Not surprised you had the lake to yourself at that time Ian, great work in zone 2 and keeping well within the given range πŸ™‚

    • Sounds like you had great conditions for your run!

    • Nice disciplined outing fella

    • These early ones are starting to be a habit Ian 😄 no dogs would be wanting to leave theur beds at that time so the chances of encountering extendible leads were pretty low😄 good looking 9 this morning 👍👍

    • Nice looking miles and great pace for the zones 👍👍👍

    • Lovely big chunk of miles to start the day. Nice to have the lake to yourself, I bet πŸ˜‰

    • Impressive work Ian, well done

    • It seems to be a good time to go . Well done with the HR training. 😊👍👍👍
