I am fully dead, but wouldn’t go to bed before reading this one and and finally found the calmness (and the continuous web connection, with all that traveling it’s not so easy to get it) to sit down and digest the blog post. What can I say, the biggest cheesiest grin ever was entirely, fully justified! You ARE amazing Sharnie! Huge well done! ๐Ÿ™‚

I started reading this with a mood the kind of “let’s see what this most-fantastic-of-runners has been up to…” and after a couple of minutes I was biting my nails and shouting WTF!!!! What an adventure!!!! Cow evasion, shoe-fishing, chased by horses, wind & rain & hail and INTERROGATED by the police (even if they just nodded smiling at me, I’d feel at least as guilty as if I’d broken into the Louvre museum, stolen the original Mona Liza and was carrying it under my armpit!… Joy). Wow, Sharnie, you ARE amazing! Huge well done and a zillion high-fives to the bestest ever Spriggs support-crew!

OK (I thinkโ€ฆ) and rainbow drawing accepted (tomorrow is Easter eve here and Iโ€™m already feeling overloaded with tasks -even if in lockdown!โ€ฆ RoflJoySweat Smile). Quick question: have we been assigned โ€œproperโ€ numbers to write on the rainbow bib?

OK, OK, had wanted to wait just in case we are in full lockdown Greece. It seems like we might JUST avoid it (but you never know…) Sign me up for the half! No tee needed of course (I’m too far away and anyway this will be easter-weekend here in Greece, so I’m sure the posts are packed with packages for a couple of weeks now).

Very sensible indeed… So great that somebody can calmly and logically talk on all this when more & more people around us seem to be losing any sense of measure…

Even though I very much feel the disappointment (having had my yesterday’s mara posponed), I can fully justify the call. Health is not something to take lightly. Even if we, as runners, are generally healthy and might generally expect to survive having contracted that Covid-19, what about transmitting it to other people? I ‘m sure I wouldn’t take it sooooo very heavily were I to be infected and pass a flu-like sickness or go through a two-week quarantine, but I bet I wouldn’t bear the thought of having transmitted the virus to someone innocent and fully indifferent to my running adventures…

And also a great comic, “The terrible & wonderful reasons why I run long distances” by the Oatmeal.

You can also read the comic (in six parts) online here:  https://theoatmeal.com/comics/running

    What a run! Unbelievable!…

It is amazing that after a year that, overall, has carried many ups and downs for you, you managed to  keep your nerve and stay focused in your training, resulting in such an epic achievement so early after the asthma diagnosis. It must have taken enormous strength of character to stay humble yet ambitious and keep up with your persistent training. It is not something unheard of, especially of you dear Sharnie, still it is so fascinating that you have let nothing stop you and recovered from the (both psychological and physical) blows of 2019 to put in such a marvellous race!

What can I say… There are no words, really… Absolutely fantastic run! Top job and a huge bravo to the entire team-Spriggs for the support and the encouragement and the unfailing smiles! But, most of all, huge congrats to you for yet another fabulous run! An amazing accomplishment for a flawless start of the races of this new decade! Great write-up too… ๐Ÿ™‚
