I think Ian’s epic 100k race makes him a very good candidate!

Ahem…. Vicky it doesn’t HAVE TO be you, it IS you already! This site and the happiness we are all feeling to have left the orphanage, to have found our friends again and to be able to compose write-ups about our runs, exchange opinions and ideas or just chatter like busy magpies is proof enough! You are not just the bug of the month, but the keymaster to everyone’s joyfulbugmoments (one word, not a mistake) of the month! 😉 Convinced?

A run’s pace to begin with. And. yes, would love to see the weekly-monthly-yearly totals, but pace is the first thing that comes to mind. Also, an idea for the future: perhaps there could be a dropdown menu (or something similar) with categories with which a run can be tagged like “recovery”, “fartlek”, “tempo”, “intervals”, “LSR””race” or some customizable categories (e.g. heart rate zone? run-how-you-feel?). So the user can tag and in the future check e.g. all his/her intervals. I have such a column in the google doc where I store my runs and it is very easy to sort and inspect by category. It helps miserable bugs like myself feel very geek-y apart from very sporty… 😉

    Hello!

I am Vangelis. I am located a bit far away from the rest of you bugs (in Patras, Greece). I started running about seven years ago to see if I could manage to run the longest distance I had run as a teenager (about 4 miles). Felt proud completing my first 5k, then 10k, then 10 miles. Was stuck to half marathons for a while, but last year managed to run my first (and my second) marathon and also my first trail run. In my running adventures I have received huge motivation and inspiration from amazing people (you know who you are…) not only concerning running, but life in general. When not wearing the runner’s costume (!) I am a marine biologist working in the University of Patras (and yes, in my happiest moments -if not running on a mountain- I am probably sampling on-board a fishing boat).

It is… it is… beyond words… and so hard to grasp what you have done out there. Even after reading -again- there are so many parts of the narrative where I don’t know if I want to know more or whether I’d opt for being left in awe and ignorance! Amazing really… Enormous respect and a truly inspirational race and write up. Huge congrats -and well done to the support team: Ian and Molly.
